"Been coming here since 1996. With my ding dong best friends and now my daughters. They are a straight up stalwart of Chinese dumpling joy. Don’t skip on this place. Get in order 2 plates per person and a couple Of beers. The place is filthy, and beautiful. Authentic and delicious. You can go spend 3 times the amount for half the flavour and 1/10th the vibe."

"Came here today around 4pm for lunch as my friends wanted somewhere cheap and were craving lemon chicken. We (3 of us) ordered 8 dishes in total. My friend said the lemon chicken tasted a bit odd to them, I’m not the biggest lemon chicken fan myself but it was okay enough for me. The Salt and Pepper Calamari was not the best I’ve had but nice, however could’ve used a bit more seasoning to taste. The Char Kway Teow was nice aswell again not amazing but the food is cheap so for the value I was definitely satisfied. Our Shao Long Bao was beautiful, juicy, soft, so yum. Whether they came from a frozen pack they were delish so I don’t care LOL. Our Fried rice with Steamed Pork was good as a side dish but I wouldn’t order it on its own personally. I wasn’t wrapped on the spring onion pan-cake, dry and tasteless. Fried Pork and Veggie Dumplings were yummy though. The place was tidy and dishes came fast. Can’t complain too much for a quick and cheap lunch. Thanks!"

"Old school food place with awesome food. Must try: Beef noodles, pork wontons and the in-house chili oil. The ordering system and service is quite fast and efficient. Walk around, do a bar crawl and step into satisfy all your Chinese food cravings."

"The food is an absolute bargain for what it is. The dumplings are both delicious and far cheaper than any others I’ve had in Melbourne, the service was quick and left little to be desired. The steamed pork and chilli oil dumplings could’ve used more spice to my taste but were heavenly nonetheless, and though the beef fried rice was lacking any vegetable matter it was still deeply satisfying. While the house lemon iced tea was not much more than lightly flavoured water and a lot of ice it wasn’t an expensive mistake to make. The bare setting is less than appealing but it’s not uncomfortable to be in and the busy atmosphere is comforting, besides, the food makes up for any shortcomings by a mile. I will without doubt be returning, and not in far future either."

"I had a lovely lunch at Camy Shanghai Dumpling House with a big group of people, perfect spot for a casual, budget-friendly lunch or night out ordering through the QR code. We ordered a mix: dumplings, noodles, fried rice, and the double cooked pork in claypot, and everything was delicious. The dumplings were juicy and unexpected in their flavour, and the noodles, rice and pork rounded out the meal with satisfying variety. The food was seriously good value. For the price, we got generous portions that hit the spot without breaking the bank. This spot has a reputation for being one of the more affordable eats in Melbourne’s Chinatown. The vibe of the place is casual and relaxed, ideal whether you’re going solo, with friends, or in a small group. It’s the kind of no fuss restaurant where you just show up hungry and leave full. Service was quick and straightforward (not flashy, but that’s part of what makes it feel real). The food arrived fast, which was great when we were hungry. If you’re after cheap eats that still taste good and satisfy cravings, especially for dumplings or Chinese comfort food, Camy Shanghai Dumpling House is a solid win."

"I love this place. They make great handmade dumplings. Don’t even think, just walk right in! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked in. But this dumpling joint brought out some fantastic handmade dumplings to the table. Steamed and fried both tasted good and it was properly handmade with lots of love. From the dough to fillings dumpings in Melbourne just taste different to the ones served in Sydney, and Melbourne no doubt serve better quality Chinese food compared to Sydney I thorough enjoyed eating at this joint and looking forward to revisit for the 3rd time For these reasons I give this place 4 bears"
